The Annunicaiton tells the story of the Archangel Gabriel who was sent from God to greet the Virgin, telling Her that she would bear a Son and name Him Jesus, and that He would be the Savior of the world. This icon was originally painted in the 17th century in Russia.  
 
This is a mounted icon with raised borders.. Mounted icons are created from quality reproductions of ancient icons and are printed on museum quality art paper with high quality pigment-based inks. The reproductions are mounted on birch veneered plywood and varnished for protection.
