Mother of God Eleousa Icon is inspired by the original painting by the Cretan icon painter, Akotantos, during the 1400s. It is characterized by the touching cheeks of mother and child in a loving moment. 
 
This is a mounted icon with raised borders. Mounted icons are created from quality reproductions of ancient icons and are printed on museum quality art paper with high quality pigment-based inks. The reproductions are mounted on birch veneered plywood and varnished for protection.
