The Nativity of the Lord tells the story of Christ's birth, as told in the Holy Scriptures and in Tradition. It is beautifully depicted in this Christmas icon. This icon was originally painted in the 15th century in Russia.
This is a mounted icon with raised borders. The background and frame are made with gold leaf. Mounted icons are created from quality reproductions of ancient icons and are printed on museum quality art paper with high quality pigment-based inks. The reproductions are mounted on birch veneered plywood and varnished for protection.
All artwork is done in solitude and in prayer, anonymously and with love.
