The icon is the "Meeting at the Golden Gate" of Saints Joachim and Saint Anne, who were the father and mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the maternal grandparents of Jesus. They are the patron saints of parenting and grandparents.
This is a mounted icon. Mounted icons are created from quality reproductions of ancient icons and are printed on museum quality art paper with high quality pigment-based inks. The reproductions are mounted on birch veneered plywood and varnished for protection. The background is made with gold leaf.
