STATUES

The Statues of Christ, the Crucifix, Our Lady and Saints are inspired by ancient statues of the Romanesque or Gothic eras. They are creations from our sister Monastery, the Atelier Saint Joseph France.

These pieces of artwork are made in dolomie stone from the Pyrenees, reconstituted and molded before receiving various patinas of stone, clay, bronze or imitation ivory. These patinas are applied by hand which gives each piece a unique character. 

 

The statues are created in prayer by the sisters of Bethlehem who strive to radiate the beauty of God and of the mystery of his Love through their artwork.
